Revolutionizing

Lung Cancer
Care

Advancing detection. Improving care.
Our mission

To improve and save lives by revolutionizing the diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer.

We seek to bring cutting-edge technologies to lung cancer care, empowering clinicians to diagnose lung cancer earlier and treat patients more effectively.

The Challenge

Lung cancer is the deadliest cancer in the U.S.—more than colon, breast, and prostate cancer combined1

19%
of all cancer deaths worldwide2
2.5M
new patients diagnosed globally every year3
18.2%
of eligible U.S. individuals are up to date with lung cancer screening4
28.1%
of U.S. cases are diagnosed at an early stage, when survival rates are higher4
21%
of U.S. cases did not receive any treatment after diagnosis4
>63%
of eligible individuals are up to date with colorectal, breast, and cervical cancer screenings5
29.7%
of U.S. patients are alive five years after diagnosis4
10–20%
of lung cancers occur in people who never smoked6
Our goal

Improve lung cancer survival rates

by enabling earlier detection and management—when treatment outcomes are most favorable—and enhancing patient care throughout every stage of their cancer journey, from screening to palliative care.

More Effective Screening

Lung cancer is a heterogeneous disease that can be challenging to diagnose. We are developing a blood-based diagnostic tool with the aim to enable early and accurate diagnosis and stratification of patients to treat those who are at high cancer risk, complementing low-dose computed tomography (CT).

A Tool for Every Target

Expanded CT screening is putting more patients into the diagnostic pathway, and a single bronchoscopy may need to sample more than one kind of target. Maverix builds an instrument for each — forceps at the airway wall, ultrasound-guided needles beyond it, and a console-free cryoprobe for cryoadhesion biopsy.

Superior Treatment & Palliative Care

Lung cancer and its treatment can significantly impact physical function, impeding a patient's ability to perform daily activities. By effectively managing the range of symptoms, our minimally invasive palliative care devices enhance well-being and overall quality of care for the millions of patients diagnosed after Stage I.
